Training
Who, When and Where?
For adults and School year 9 and upwards come along to Senior Club Training on Tuesday evenings from 6.30 - 8pm at the astro turf pitch, Torquay Girls' Grammar School, Shiphay Lane, Torquay - and introduce yourself on arriving.
Training Fees are included in your annual subscription.
What team will I play for?
Selection of teams will take place before training. You will be asked to fill in an availabilty sheet when you join. We will do our utmost to match everyone's ability with the correct team. Don't get discouraged if you get put with one higher or lower than your ability. Eventually you'll settle into a squad that suits you.
What equipment can you provide?
We play on astro turf so make sure you have the appropriate footwear (no studs). We can provide junior and senior sticks if you don't have one along with a variety of goalkeeping kit. Shin pads (or large wads of newspaper stuffed down long socks) can be bought at any sports shop. Gumshields are mandatory - they can also be bought from a sports shop but better still, see your dentist for one.
How can I get Club Kit?
To play for a team, we do expect you to have a club kit. Skorts and socks can be purchased from our kit officer. We will of course provide the team shirts when playing a match.
Other kit is also available to buy.
We have various sizes of goalie kit for those who want to stand out in a crowd!!
What are the Club Colours?
Our first colours are Maroon and Gold shirts, Maroon Skorts and Maroon and Gold Hooped Socks. Our second strip is royal blue shirts and the same skorts and socks
When will I know if I have been selected?
Teams are announced at the end of training and will be posted on the web site that evening. Don't worry if your name isn't called, your chance will come …… keep coming to training. If you feel that you want to discuss your progress within the club any member of the committee or the coach will be happy to talk to you.
